BANGLADESH AUCTION
SALE OF - 20TH JANUARY 2015 (SALE NO.35)

CTC LEAF: 29,448 packages and 10 packages of old season teas on offer continued to meet with a good but selective demand.

BROKENS: Good BOPs met with a good demand and were generally about steady whilst smaller types were a strong feature and were mostly dearer. The price for these varieties ranged between Tk.200/- and Tk.205/-. The remainder met with only a fair demand but plainer sorts were mostly neglected and where sold were discounted heavily.

FANNINGS: A select few bright Fannings met with a stronger demand and were dearer following competition and these sold between Tk.200/- and Tk.205/-.Mediums were slightly easier but plainer varieties met with a selective demand and there were heavy withdrawals.

CTC DUST: 5,165 packages of teas on offer met with a good with prices again closely following quality. A few good liquoring varieties met with a strong demand and were firm to slightly dearer following competition. Medium varieties sold around last levels whilst plainer end of season teas were an easier market with some withdrawals. Blenders lent good support with some interest from the Loose tea buyers.

COMMENTS: There was a fair number of buyers present despite the ongoing blockade. The highlight of the sale was the strong demand for the good liquoring varieties which appreciated. Blenders were more active with a little more support from the Loose tea buyers. However, the bulk of the plain teas were difficult of sale and withdrawals in this category was heavy.

Good liquoring Dusts were again a strong feature of the sale.

Our catalogue (This week) Avg: Tk.185.27, sold 67.90% & (Last Week) Avg. Tk.188.95 sold 70.27.
