The 1st sale of the year concluded today had on offer a total volume of 9,140 packages. There was fair buyers demand at irregular levels following to the quality.

JAVA ORTHODOX TEA - BOP/BOPF better/best lots appreciated by 3-5 cts whilst good medium lots depreciated by 1-3 cts. PF was declined by 4-9 cts below last week sale. Dust/BT were wakened by 3-5 cts when sold. Secondary grades were sold firm to 3 cts easier.

JAVA CTC TEA - PF1/Dust/Fann/D2 were maintained last week levels. PD discounted by 10-13 cts when sold.

SUMATRA ORTHODOX TEA - BOP/BOPF/PF were sold firm to 3 cts dearer. Dust decreased by 2-3 cts below last week sale. BT/PF.II were maintained last week prices. Balance secondary grades were sold firm to 2 cts dearer.
