Strong general demand for the 140,360 packages (8,991,609.kilos) on offer and 12.44% remained unsold. The best BP1s available were upto USC14 dearer while brighter types met improved interest gaining USC26 to USC62 with mediums unsteady at the start and eased by upto USC32 but thereafter gained USC20 to USC46. Lower medium BP1s saw an irregular enquiry ranging between USC2 to USC8 easier to dearer by upto USC40 with plainer sorts varying between USC14 dearer to easier by upto USC10. The few best PF1s on offer were firm to USC6 dearer with brighter types steady to USC12 dearer while mediums were generally firm to USC12 dearer. Lower mediums saw prices appreciating by upto USC30 but a few lines eased by upto USC5 while plainer descriptions saw an irregular interest with improved teas upto usc14 dearer but others shed USC12 to USC18. The few best PDUSTs available appreciated by upto USC36 while brighter sorts held firm to USC6 dearer with mediums varying between USC4 to USC12 dearer to easier by upto USC6. Lower medium PDUSTs were well absorbed at USC6 to USC22 above last prices but a few lines lost upto USC2 with plainer types USC2 to USC30 dearer but poorest lost upto USC13. The few best DUST1s on offer were upto USC6 dearer with brighter categories upto USC16 dearer while mediums appreciated by upto USC12. Lower mediums were well absorbed at USC6 to USC22 above last levels with plainer sorts firm to USC32 dearer but poorest eased by upto USC17. In the secondary catalogues BPs held value while PFs were dearer. Clean well sorted coloury Fannings and DUSTs appreciated. Other Fannings and similar DUSTs were steady. BMFs were well absorbed at dearer rates. Pakistan Packers maintained dominance with strong support from Egyptian Packers, Sudan, Yemen, other Middle Eastern countries, Kazakhstan, other CIS countries, Bazaar and UK. There was more activity from Afghanistan and Russia was active while Iran showed some interest. Somalia was more active at the lower end of the market.
