There was fairly good demand for the 111,457 packages (7,253,148 kilos) on offer at irregular rates closely following quality. 22.95% remained unsold.

The best BP1s available shed USC8 with brighter types discounted by USC4 to USC20 and some lines were neglected; mediums were a weak feature and depreciated by upto USC50 and more where sold. Lower medium BP1s were irregular varying between USC2 to USC20 easier to dearer by upto USC56 while plainer descriptions held firm to USC20 above last prices.

The best PF1s on offer eased by upto USC12 while brighter categories shed upto USC18 with some lines remaining unsold; mediums were discounted by USC5 to USC18. Improved lower mediums were firm to USC20 dearer but others were however difficult of sale while plainer types were irregular ranging between firm to USC6 dearer to easier by a similar margin with plainest neglected.

The best PDUSTS available eased by USC18 but brighter sorts were well-competed for at USC10 to USC36 dearer while mediums gained USC4 to USC18 but a few invoices lost upto USC2 at the start. Coloury lower mediums saw improved enquiry appreciating by USC16 to USC20 but others were neglected with plainer types discounted by USC6 to USC18 where sold.

The best DUST1s were about steady while brighter category varied between USC20 dearer to easier by USC4 to USC18 with mediums ranging between USC2 to USC14 dearer to easier by similar levels. Lower mediums saw better absorption at USC4 to USC20 dearer with plainer sorts ranging between firm levels to easier by upto USC8.

In the secondary catalogues BPs and PFs were easier. Clean well sorted coloury Fannings and DUSTs appreciated. Other Fannings were about steady with similar DUSTs firm. BMFs were well absorbed.

Yemen and other Middle Eastern countries showed strong support while Pakistan Packers maintained interest with more activity from Sudan. Egyptian Packers were active but selective while UK lent more interest but was also selective. There was less activity from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, other CIS countries with less interest from Bazaar while Russia and Iran were subdued. Somalia maintained activity.
