SALE OF - 11TH/ 12TH MAY 2015 (SALE NO.19)

 

There was strong but irregular demand for 97,877packages (6,325,414 kilos) which strengthened as the sale progressed especially for brighter mediums and prices closely followed quality.13.96% remained unsold.

The best BP1s on offer saw improved interest and gained upto USC30 with brighter categories irregular varying between USC6 to USC14 dearer to easier by upto USC6 while mediums met better competition appreciating by USC6 to USC16 but a few lines shed upto USC6. Lower mediums were irregular with quality and ranged between USC25 above last prices to easier by upto USC20 but plainer descriptions were better absorbed appreciating by upto USC18 above last levels.

Best PF1s available were marginally dearer with brighter types varying between firm to USC5 dearer to easier by USC4 to USC8 while mediums varied between USC8 dearer to easier by similar rates. Lower medium PF1s were irregular varying between USC24 dearer to easier by similar rates with plainer sorts better absorbed at USC4 to USC12 dearer.

The best PDUSTs available appreciated by upto USC28 while brighter types ranged between USC3 to USC10 dearer to easier by upto USC5 with mediums irregular varying between USC6 to USC20 dearer to easier USC2 to USC6. Lower mediums gained upto USC12 but poorer lines shed upto USC25 while plainer sorts were steady to USC8 above last prices.

Best DUST1s gained USC13 while brighter sorts held firm to USC8 dearer with mediums irregular and varied between USC4 to USC18 dearer to easier by USC2 to USC4. Lower mediums ranged between USC12 dearer to easier upto USC16 with plainer descriptions steady to USC6 dearer.

In the secondary catalogues the BPs gained while PFs were irregularly dearer. Clean well sorted coloury Fannings and similar DUSTs appreciated. Other Fannings were dearer with similar DUSTs irregular but on balance dearer. BMFs were absorbed at easier rates.

Pakistan Packers were again dominant and strong with more activity from Egyptian Packers, UK, Kazakhstan, other CIS countries and Sudan. Afghanistan were active with Yemen, other Middle Eastern countries and Bazaar maintaining support. Russia were quieter while Iran was subdued. Somalia was less active.
