SALE OF - 06TH/ 07TH JULY 2015 (SALE NO.27)

 

Fairly good demand for the 102,679 packages (6,475,207kilos) on offer at irregular rates with more teas remaining unsold (21.35%).

The best BP1s on offer were weaker and shed upto USC18 while brighter category were USC8 to USC14 dearer but a few invoices eased by upto USC2 with mediums better supported but irregular and varied between firm to USC24 dearer to easier by upto USC10. Lower mediums met less interest easing by upto USC18 but a few lines tended dearer while plainer categories were firm to USC12 dearer but some teas shed upto USC10 where sold.

Best PF1s available were upto USC5 dearer with brighter sorts irregular ranging between firm to USC2 dearer to easier by upto USC8 while mediums were a weak feature ranging between firm to USC12 dearer to easier by a similar margin and many teas remained unsold. Lower mediums were discounted by upto USC18 while plainer types were barely steady to USC16 easier and many teas were neglected.

The best PDUSTs available achieved USC6 with brighter types USC2 to USC12 above last levels while mediums varied between USC4 dearer to easier by USC2 to USC20. Lower mediums depreciated by upto USC26 with plainer sorts the weakest feature of the sale at barely firm to USC24 and more below last prices and were largely neglected.

Best DUST1s on offer were marginally dearer while brighter categories were barely steady to USC10 cents below last levels with mediums irregular ranging between firm to USC8 dearer to easier by upto USC20. Lower mediums were upto USC26 below last prices with plainer teas discounted by upto USC20 with some invoices unsold.

In the secondary catalogues BPs were firm while PFs tended easier. Clean well sorted coloury Fannings were discounted with similar DUSTs barely steady. Other Fannings and DUSTs eased. BMFs were well absorbed at dearer rates.

Yemen, other Middle Eastern countries lent strong support with more activity from Sudan, Kazakhstan and other CIS states. UK showed more interest but was selective with Pakistan Packers and Bazaar active. There was less enquiry from Afghanistan and Egyptian Packers were even less active with Russia and Iran quieter. Somalia was active.
