SALE OF - 20TH/ 21ST JULY 2015 (SALE NO.29)

 

There was improved demand for the 108,008 packages (6,955,793 kilos) on offer with prices especially following quality and 17.94% were unsold.

The best BP1s available met better enquiry and gained upto USC26 while brighter types appreciated by USC2 to USC12 with mediums a strong feature and gained USC2 to USC38 and more. Lower mediums were irregular varying between USC16 dearer to easier by upto USC10 while plainer descriptions saw irregular tendency ranging between firm to USC10 dearer to easier by a similar rate.

Best PF1s were upto USC18 dearer while the improving brighter sorts were a strong feature at USC12 to USC24 above last levels with mediums well competed for at USC14 to USC24 dearer but a few lines shed upto USC16. Lower medium PF1s met improved interest at USC5 to USC42 above last prices but some lines were neglected towards the close with plainer categories varying between firm to USC12 dearer to easier by USC5 and some lines were neglected.

The best PDUSTs on offer met strong enquiry and gained USC34 with brighter types USC8 to USC30 dearer while mediums appreciated by USC4 to USC20. Lower medium PDUSTs were irregular and ranged between USC10 to USC26 dearer to easier by upto USC15 with plainer descriptions USC10 to USC30 dearer.

Best DUST1s available were marginally dearer while brighter sorts were fully firm to USC4 dearer with mediums USC8 to USC28 dearer but tended unsteady at the start. Lower mediums appreciated by USC10 to USC28 while plainer types were upto USC34 dearer but some teas lost upto USC16 where sold.

In the cecondary catalogues BPs were irregularly firm while PFs gained. Clean well sorted coloury Fannings were discounted with similar DUSTs irregular. Other Fannings continued irregularly firm while the DUSTs were dearer. BMFs were well absorbed at last levels.

Afghanistan and Egyptian Packers showed strong support while Pakistan Packers, Kazakhstan, other CIS countries and UK lent more interest with Yemen and other Middle Eastern countries active. Sudan, Bazaar and Russia showed less interest. Iran was quieter. Somalia continued active at the lower end of the market.
