SALE OF - 31ST AUGUST/ 01ST SEPTEMBER 2015 (SALE NO.35)

 

Fairly good demand for the 117,496 packages (7,627,780kilos) on offer with prices closely following quality and 22.61% were neglected.

Best BP1s available gained upto USC12 while brighter categories appreciated by USC2 to USC24 with mediums irregular ranging between USC14 to USC28 dearer to substantially easier with some lines neglected. Lower mediums were generally easier by upto USC30 and more but a few invoices gained by upto USC4 while plainer types were barely steady to USC8 below last prices.

The best PF1s on offer shed upto USC6 with brighter category upto USC20 dearer but some lines dropped by upto USC10. Lower medium PF1s were irregular varying between USC2 to USC8 dearer to easier by a similar margin while plainer descriptions were barely firm to USC6 below last rates.

Best PDUSTs available eased by upto USC22 with brighter sorts upto USC34 dearer but some invoices lost upto USC20 on account of quality. Lower mediums were a weak feature and discounted by upto USC20 and more where sold while plainer types shed USC10 to USC20 with some teas remaining unsold.

The best DUST1s on offer tended easier while brighter sorts were irregular and varied between firm to USC8 dearer to easier by a similar rate with clean mediums upto USC4 dearer but others were easier by similar levels. Lower mediums shed upto USC20 while plainer types were a weak feature and eased by upto USC26.

In the secondary catalogues BPs held value while PFs were barely steady. Clean well sorted coloury Fannings were irregularly dearer with similar DUSTs dearer. Other Fannings were discounted while DUSTs were steady. BMFs were well absorbed at dearer levels.

Afghanistan and Pakistan Packers lent strong support while Yemen, other Middle Eastern countries, Kazakhstan and other CIS states were active with maintained interest from Sudan, Bazaar and Egyptian Packers. UK and Russia were fairly active particularly the former who was selective. Iran was subdued. Somalia bought tea for price.
