SALE OF - 08TH DECEMBER 2015 (SALE NO.30)

 

CTC LEAF: 32,884 packages and 81 packages of Old Season teas on offer met with a fairly strong demand although eased towards the close. BROKENS: Well made Brokens were quite a strong feature and were generally fully firm. These could be quoted between Tk.192/- and Tk.195/-. Medium varieties met with a good market but eased a little whilst plainer types declined by a large margin. There were several withdrawals in this category.

FANNINGS: Good Fannings were initially quite a strong market and were generally firm to often dearer but with the progress of sale, they eased by upto Tk.2/-. These types could be quoted between Tk.192/- and Tk.193/-.Mediums were about firm. Plain types eased further with fair withdrawals.

CTC DUST: 5,485 packages of Teas on offer met with a stronger demand. Good liquoring varieties met with more competition and were mostly dearer. All others sold around last levels in line with quality. Blenders lent more support with fair interest from the Loose tea buyers.

COMMENTS: Market started on a strong note particularly for the brighter liquoring invoices which were well competed for by the Blenders. However, demand eased towards the close of the sale and prices were easier than the beginning. Loose tea buyers were generally selective.

Good liquoring Dusts were a dearer market.
